#1158116: Event - Where Privacy Meets Security

Description: Cybersecurity is essential to online privacy, but too often the two are placed into conflict with one another. In recent years, the CIS Critical Security Controls, a prioritized list of important actions an organization can take to protect their networks, has emerged as a leading way of thinking about cybersecurity. But how do we ensure that implementation of such frameworks supports, not hinders, privacy?

On June 28, 2017, New America and the Center for Internet Security (CIS) will discuss with renowned privacy and cybersecurity experts how organizations improve their security posture, while being mindful of privacy. The panel will offer insights into privacy principles and opportunities to integrate privacy considerations into data security.
