#1250622: 4th Annual APWG Symposium on Global Cybersecurity Awareness - Bucharest on June 26-27
APWG.EU and APWG are pleased to announce our fourth annual Symposium on
Global Cybersecurity Awareness, this year presented in partnership with
the European Commission (DG: DIGIT) and the Council of Europe
(Convention on Cybercrime), to be held at the European Commission
Representation Office in Bucharest on June 26-27.
The symposium notes page is here:
The program committee is receiving proposals for presentations from:
developers of awareness programming; curators and advocates of awareness
campaigns; and researchers on all behavioral aspects of cybersecurity,
user metrics and behavioral interventions. The topic spaces of interest
as well as the submission instructions and webform are available on the
symposium notes page above.
Awareness IV Bucharest coincides with the Romanian Presidency of the
Council of the European Union <https://www.romania2019.eu/> in 2019.
The timing and venue places this year’s symposium and its discussions of
cybersecurity awareness, as an instrument of programmatic suppression of
cybercrime, within a potent multilateral context and at the altitude
that they deserve.
Interest in behavioral aspects of cybercrime has never been higher since
APWG’s eCrime conference began receiving papers on related subjects in
2006 - and even since we proposed the Messaging Convention in 2009 and
the US Department of Homeland Security subsequently launched the first
national STOP. THINK. CONNECT. campaign in 2010.
With industry’s increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity
awareness/education/training offerings, researchers from manifold
disciplines entering the space and the increasing interest of
enterprises, national government and inter-governmental organizations in
behavioral aspects of cybercrime prevention, Awareness IV promises to be
a keystone event.
Please consider submitting a presentation proposal soonest as the queue
started filling quickly when the dates were initially announced. APWG
members with an interest in sponsoring the program this year can review
the collaborators’ memorandum available on the symposium notes page
See you in Bucharest.
