#1294048: Israel’s Largest Cybersecurity Event, Cybertech 2020, To Open In Tel Aviv Next Month

Description: Cybertech 2020, the largest annual cybersecurity event in the world outside the US, will take place in Tel Aviv next month with thousands of cyber tech experts, industry leaders, venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, executives, and government officials worldwide.

Featured speakers will include Director-General of the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD) Yigal Unna, Israeli cybersecurity think tank and company creation platform Team 8 co-founder and CEO Nadav Zafrir, and Diagnostic Robotics Chairman and CTO Kira Radinsky (formerly with eBay).

The three-day event will run over between January 28 -30 at the Expo Tel Aviv and is expected to draw some 18,000 attendees from over 80 countries.

Hundreds of startups, companies, organizations and governmental institutions are set to take part in the Cybertech exhibition. In previous events, these have included the Mossad, the IDF’s elite 8200 Unit, the Israel Police’s anti-fraud Lahav 433 Unit, IBM, Deloitte, Microsoft, and Check Point Software Technologies.

The conference will host dozens of roundtables, panels, meetings and discussions on the future of cybersecurity in fields such as cloud, IoT, Blockchain, Fintech, machine learning, and quantum computing.

There will also be a startup competition called the Startup Innovation Challenge, where early-stage startups working on a dedicated solution for an emerging cybersecurity problem in the field of traditional IT and enterprise environments, IoT, and emerging sectors.

This is the fourth CyberTech startup competition, powered by YL Ventures. The grand prize will be awarded to three winning startups, each representing a different subdomain or challenge within the cybersecurity market.

The winning startups will present their innovative solution to an esteemed panel of leading US-based CISOs (chief information security officers) and cybersecurity experts, in front of a live audience at the main stage of Cybertech. Each of the three startups will win a flight and pass to the 2020 RSA conference in San Francisco in February. The conference is a gathering of top cybersecurity leaders and a community of peers to exchange ideas that will help propel the industry forward.

The winning startups will gain a unique opportunity to present their innovative solution to an esteemed panel of leading U.S.-based CISOs and cybersecurity experts, in front of a live audience at the main stage of Cybertech. Each of the three startups will win a flight ticket and pass to the 2020 RSA conference in San Francisco.

One of the biggest headlines of Cybertech 2019 came from Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who spoke last year’s conference and told the crowd, that Iran virtually attacks Israel every day. He also said that every country needs a combination of defense and attack capabilities and that “Israel has such capabilities.”
