#1390105: Cyber Trends: Working Through and Beyond the COVID-19 Era

Description: Now in its fifth year, Cyber Trends draws on the experience of industry practitioners, government representatives, and researchers to examine the current trends and what is on the horizon for the cybersecurity ecosystem, across the UK and around the world.

This year the debates will consider the impact of the global pandemic on the current and future cyber scene. We are at a critical juncture where new trends are appearing and transformative initiatives are taking place.

Cyber Trends 2021 brings together some of the world’s most renowned experts to provide their insights and views of cybersecurity in the coming years.

Policymakers, corporate leaders, and the community come together to explore technology and policy trends and engage in a conversation with a broad group of stakeholders.

About the Global Cyber Alliance
The Global Cyber Alliance (GCA) is an international, cross-sector effort dedicated to eradicating cyber risk and improving our connected world. We achieve our mission by uniting global communities, implementing concrete solutions, and measuring the effect. GCA, a 501(c)3, was founded in September 2015 by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, the City of London Police, and the Center for Internet Security. Learn more at www.globalcyberalliance.org.

Audience
The event is hosted by GCA and generally attended by government, law enforcement, cybersecurity, and industry leaders.

Agenda
This year’s event, the first since the outbreak of COVID-19, will reflect on the deep impact caused by the pandemic, not only to our everyday lives but also to our digital world as a whole, including the increasingly disruptive activities of organised and state-sponsored e-crime.

The sessions will begin with an overview of the cybercriminal activities of 2020 centred around Verizon’s annual DBIR report.

The keynote will introduce the central part of the event—a panel highlighting Domain Trust, a GCA initiative focused identifying abuse in the domain name system to help address the global response against conventional e-crime.

Finally, the third block will offer an opportunity for first-hand insights from those who will define the future of cybersecurity—the next generation of responders.

Suzanne Kelly, CEO of The Cipher Brief and presenter of the event, will close the sessions with a debate and Q&A open to all participants.

Cyber Trends full agenda.

Key questions that will be addressed at Cyber Trends 2021:
2020 was a unique year for e-crime and cybersecurity—which trends will be temporary and which ones are to remain in the future?

In 2020, various disruptive collaborative initiatives, such as Domain Trust, were set in motion—are we observing a global trend? How deep will their impact be?

Next Generation Internet—is cybersecurity really becoming more inclusive and diverse? How will this impact its future?
