This first physical CISO Meetup is crucial to further develop the CISO European Community (CEC) initiatives and network with peers. Privacy and confidentiality will be maximally guaranteed. ECSO has already established secure communication channels for CEC (two group chats hosted on an instant messaging platform) but understands that not all discussions can be held remotely. With currently about 190 members from 26 European countries present in CEC, ECSO anticipates a broad attendance of European CISOs at this in person event. If you are a CISO and wish to join the CEC instant messaging platform, please contact ECSO's CISO Community & Cyber Resilience Manager [sebastijan.cutura(at)ecs-org.eu] to receive information on the application procedure.

What to expect at the CISO Meetup:

Presence of CISOs coming from 26 European countries
Two workstreams: General stream on building EU CISO Community & Sector-specific stream covering topics from cybersecurity in energy and finance to specific threats or challenges

Upon registration, you will have the chance to develop part of the agenda together with ECSO and propose the topic(s) which you deem pressing for discussion!

Agenda (tbc):

The agenda is being developed together with the CISOs chairing the Community. The idea is to have two streams:

General stream: Creating the European CISO Community
Sector-specific stream: Energy, Finance, specific threats or challenges, etc.

General Stream

The general stream will be open to all participants and cover topics relevant for the CISOs in Europe.

Some initial topics:

Threat-driven cybersecurity – How to build CTI Community at the EU Level?
Incident Management and Cooperation in Europe (Threat hunting, SOC-CERT, Tools, Cyber Simulations, sharing incidents)
EU Cybersecurity Regulatory Landscape – What CISOs should be aware of and how to survive regulatory tsunami
External Attack Surface

Sector-specific stream

Sector-specific topics (energy, finance, etc.) will be held in two side rooms where privacy and confidentiality will be maximally guaranteed to develop trust among CISOs interested in niche topics. The choice of the sector-specific topics depends on the turnout and interest of participants.

Sample sector-specific topics:

Energy – IT-OT Integration, NIS V2, Network Code for Electricity, Energy Sector CISO Community at EU Level
Finance – Complying with upcoming Cloud related regulations – DORA in practice
Manufacturing – How to implement cybersecurity controls in smart factories
Automotive – Proliferation of attack vectors – Keyless entry systems and mobile applications

Case studies

Case studies will be presented in both the general and sector-specific streams, depending on the applicability of the case. Sector-specific case studies will be presented in smaller groups while case studies that are of interest to the wider audience will be presented as part of the general stream.

Sample list of case study presentations:

Attack of Killnet in Italy
